The attitude is based on a number of factors. Their league and championship showings last year, the experience gained in those campaign, and the form displayed in the second half against Meath in Sunday's provincial semi-final.

Selector and former star Declan O'Loughlin, the man who persuaded Mick O'Dwyer to take over the team, says that he is also reassured by the talent in the squad and by the maturity which has developed, a factor which was notable after the break on Sunday.
