NIALL COLEMAN, one of the brightest prospects to emerge from a disappointing league campaign for Galway boss Peter Ford, faces a race against time to be fit for Saturday’s Connacht U21 football final against Mayo at Pearse Stadium (6pm).

Coleman, a son of former Galway stalwart Mattie and a nephew of former All-Star hurler Michael, produced several good displays at midfield after making the breakthrough this season.

However, he suffered a shoulder injury in the win over Wexford last Sunday week and faces a battle to take his place against Connacht champions Mayo.
