In arguably the toughest draw possible, Cork will travel to face Donegal in Ballybofey in the winners’ side of the All-Ireland SFC Round 2 on June 13 or 14.

After dismissing Kerry in Fitzgerald Stadium last Saturday week, Jim McGuinness’ side will host Cork in MacCumhaill Park as the stadium is available again. Donegal lost to Down in their Ulster quarter-final in Letterkenny’s O’Donnell Park in April.

Kerry, meanwhile, will be reasonably pleased with a trip to Newbridge where Jack O’Connor comes up against his former charges Kildare.

Cork-Donegal is the pick of the Round 2A fixtures along with Tyrone v Mayo, which will be staged in O’Neills Healy Park. Galway will be visited by neighbours and Leinster champions Westmeath while Louth will have to be creative about their “home venue against Ulster victors Armagh. Their new stadium in Dundalk is still under construction.

After two consecutive defeats, Dublin will travel to Kingspan Breffni to face Cavan who themselves are on the back of two losses in a row against Monaghan and Westmeath.

Derry will entertain Meath and there is an intriguing game set for Clones where Monaghan will take on Roscommon.

The Central Competitions Control Committee will shortly confirm the dates and times for the matches. The Round 2B losers will exit the championship while the winners will face the Round 2A in the following weekend’s Round 3, which are effectively All-Ireland preliminary quarter-finals.
