Newbridge Greyhound Stadium to close

Newbridge Greyhound Stadium in Co.Kildare has confirmed that it is to close at the end of the month.

Management says there has been a reduction in attendances, race sponsorship and secondary business activity over the past couple of years.

Talks have taken place with Bord na gCon but no way of keeping the facility open has been found.

It will close on March 26. It is not clear how many jobs will be lost or what arrangements will be made for staff.
