Fears for health of boxing legend Ali

Concern is growing for the health of boxing legend Muhammad Ali after he made a frail public appearance to support his daughter in the ring.

The former heavyweight champion used a walking frame as he entered a New York hotel ahead of daughter Laila's boxing match to defend her middleweight crown at the city's Madison Square Garden on Saturday.

An onlooker said of the Parkinson's disease sufferer: "He looked extremely frail as he made his way to the doors, which is to be expected as he has lived with the condition for many years.

"But he still had an air of pride about him. Almost like he refused to look cowed by the condition."
