Australian Grand Prix organisers are to install five metre high fencing to protect spectators at the Albert Park track following the death of a marshal in 2001.

Both sides of the circuit will be flanked by concrete and metal barriers for the opening race of the 2003 Formula One season on March 9 2003.

Marshal Graham Beveridge died when he was struck by a wheel which shot through an access hole in the fencing which stood at only 2.5 metres high.
