Premiership: Chairman a help not a hinderance - Bradford boss
Jim Jefferies has poured cold water on suggestions that Bradford chairman Geoffrey Richmond is a meddler in team affairs.
In the past Richmond has been accused of trying to have too much of a say in the day-to-day running of the first-team.
But Jefferies, who took over as City boss two months ago following the sacking of Chris Hutchings, says Richmond is certainly more of a help than a hinderance.
He told Ananova.com: "He has been terrific - I think that what Bradford have acheived over the last few seasons, coming from the lower divisions and right through, he and all the managers that were part of that before me deserve a lot of credit.
"The chairman has been at the helm through all that so he really deserves a lot of credit for his club growing on and off the park enormously in the last two or three years.
"We want to put a lot of good work into that and try and maintain it.
"Obviously I'll keep him up to date with things, and he likes to know what I am doing," added Jefferies.
"But so has every other chairman I've worked with at any other club so he knows I've got to get on with it and I'll stand or fall by that."
