Bridge to build on promise
While that victory came over the sprint trip, the step up to 525 yards is of no concern. The early pace he showed that night would be enough to see him to the front here, and while he was noted railing very tightly once getting onto the fence, he did not move directly for the rails, rather assuming the position when clear.
He’s an exciting prospect and is a strong fancy to lead all the way, with Drive On Chief the one to follow him home.
The final of the Willie Kenny Memorial is the feature race of the night and as it may be worth taking a chance on Witches Peter. Pat Walsh's dog is not ideally drawn out in six but he may be aided by the fact that Castlelyons Ralf, drawn five, will be moving towards the rails in the early stages.
With Abzorbit likely to lead along the inside, Witches Peter can follow him around before applying his superior stamina to gain the day. Undoubtedly, Castlelyons Ralf would be a huge danger if avoiding early trouble.
Free Shadow looks the one to side with in race four. Eamonn Finn's dog was having just his second race of the year when finishing second in an A2 at Tralee last Saturday night.
He ran here a few times in 2011 and impressed on occasion, showing fine early dash. His primary focus must be on leading Hilight Scolari early but if doing so, he can land the spoils at the expense of Sleek Mo.
Muskerry Torres has a perfect draw in the opener and with the drop to 525 yards in his favour, Brendan O’Day’s dog can lead all the way.
