Lee looks all set to follow up
The experienced tracker, who represents John O’Brien of Midleton, will have to be on his toes early to avoid the returning Treefurtoo, who can move markedly right from traps.
However, trapping and early pace is the selection’s strongest asset and he can be expected to pop out in front and make every yard of the running.
Lads Maggie was a shade disappointing last time, but she is a classy bitch at her best and has an undeniably good draw. She represents the most likely danger to Belindas Lee.
Shedfield Deuce was also a winner last weekend and Kieran Lynch’s dog can continue the blistering form of his kennel by taking the final race of the night.
Friday’s victory was his first outing at the track and he should be better for the experience.
Also in his favour is the drop back to 525 yards and he can be expected to use his early pace to make the most of the inside draw.
He was noted moving wide around the opening bends last week, but that could be put down to his lack of experience of the circuit. If he can be a little less wasteful between the turns, he should stamp his authority on the race from the outset.
Meanwhile Butterbridge Lee can send punters home happy by landing the fifth race at Curraheen Park. Kieran Lynch’s pup made a very promising start to his career when third behind Fermoy Scolari in an open unraced and he’s entitled to be much better for the run.
The youngster was drawn on the rails last time, but he shouldn’t have any trouble adjusting to the outside trap here.
