Lawyer denounces Paris lab procedures
Dr Ulf Walz in his letter said:
* That in his work of the past 20 years, covering dozens of cases, Dr Bigler had always been present during the analysis procedures.
* The behaviour of the FEI and the lab was “unprecedentedly scandalous, harassing and arbitrary and an abuse of Kürten’s rights”.
* He reserved the right to take both a civil action, along with pressing criminal charges against the FEI.
* That, based on a telephone conversation with Dr Bigler on Tuesday, it was obvious the B sample had been tampered with.
* That he had already informed the FEI that the Paris lab — which had tested the A sample — is “using an unknown and not scientifically validated in-house method” and a request to have the B sample tested in a different laboratory had been refused.
* He had asked for the quantity of the substance in Maike to be determined, “because noticeable differences would indicate analytical mistakes and/or illicit manipulations after the sample taking”.
