An own goal

FOR the second week running, I am disappointed to see there is no match report on our local soccer team’s outing on Friday night. I refer to Cork City F.C. There may have been a report on Saturday’s Irish Examiner, but like many people who work Monday to Friday, I don’t get the Saturday edition. It grieves me to see so much coverage given to the sport, yet our own league receives such paltry coverage.

Thank God for the internet and Cork City’s own website (www. corkcityfc.ie). Is it any wonder newsprint is losing its appeal???
