Christy O'Connor: Waterford trying to ensure there is a tomorrow

Waterford have failed to beat Limerick in their last nine championship matches but even if they do end that run on Sunday, it might not be enough to progress out of the Munster SHC

Just after Padraig Power was fouled in the 73rd minute of last Saturday’s Cork-Waterford match, and before Darragh Fitzgibbon stood over a routine free (by his standards) to put Cork four points up, Podge Collins and Noel Connors were setting the scene in their GAA+ co-commentary for what was likely to come now for both sides.

“It looks like a Cork win and that’s Cork in a Munster final,” said Collins. “And, unfortunately,” said Connors “Waterford out of the championship.”
