Just after Padraig Power was fouled in the 73rd minute of last Saturday’s Cork-Waterford match, and before Darragh Fitzgibbon stood over a routine free (by his standards) to put Cork four points up, Podge Collins and Noel Connors were setting the scene in their GAA+ co-commentary for what was likely to come now for both sides.

“It looks like a Cork win and that’s Cork in a Munster final,” said Collins. “And, unfortunately,” said Connors “Waterford out of the championship.”
