It’s a different game now.
In Brian Lohan’s last season as a player, Clare’s first day out in the championship was against a Cork team that, like the 2026 version, was on a mission, albeit of a different kind: to become the first three-in-a-row All-Ireland hurling champions since the county’s own team of the late ’70s.
