Work to do after longest goodbye

On Saturday, Leinster not only bring the curtain down on the domestic rugby season but also on the longest goodbye the game in this country has ever seen when Brian O’Driscoll lines out as a professional rugby player for the last time.

While even The Great One has grown a little weary of all the attention that has accompanied his every game this season after declaring in early 2013 that this would be his last, it will be a privilege to be there when he finally takes his leave in front of an adoring Leinster public.

The fact he has the platform to end his remarkable journey on a high, in the heart of Dublin 4 with silverware on offer, feels absolutely fitting.
