Something just does not add up at NBC

It just keeps getting worse for US Olympic broadcaster NBC.

Every four years in the US they are upbraided by viewers and rival media outlets for insisting on keeping back the best action for its primetime shows, often hours after they have happened live.

This time around NBC provided live streaming of events on its website, but still the criticism was heaped upon disgruntled TV viewers, particularly when it emerged they had edited out a dance section of the Opening Ceremony that gave a nod to the victims of the 7/7 terrorist attacks on London in 2005 in favour of a bland interview between the presenter of American Idol and Michael Phelps.
