TROJAN WAR, even if he is a typical Montjeu with a tendency to carry his head high, gets the nap to land the Her Majesty’s Plate at Down Royal this afternoon.

He performed with a lot of promise on his only outing as a juvenile, at Leopardstown, but then wasn’t seen again until reapearing at Galway 13 days ago.

The three-year-old was, at least rumour had it, said to to be in need of the outing and, as a consequence, went off an easy-to-back 9-4 shot, in a weak contest.
