Ballygunner only had four more shots than Clonlara in the first half but their conversion rate was 70 percent in that half compared to Clonlara’s 56 percent.

Semple Stadium has seen plenty of special goals over the years but Ballygunner’s second strike on Sunday was one of the most brilliantly engineered, constructed and executed green flags in the stadium’s storied history. 

Nine passes necklaced from one end of the field, beginning with goalkeeper Stephen O’Keeffe, to the other before Kevin Mahony drilled the ball to the net.
