RelateCare solutions, enhancing healthcare experiences
Conor O'Byrne, CEO, RelateCare.
RelateCare, the Irish healthcare patient access and engagement organisation, based in Waterford, Tralee, Ohio, and Arkansas, has been consistently transforming the healthcare experience, in Ireland and the US, by providing administrative and clinical virtual support solutions across the patient journey, through a variety of technologically advanced platforms.
“In 2014, we began as a joint venture between Rigneydolphin and leading US healthcare institution Cleveland Clinic, following a highly successful collaboration together," said Conor O’Byrne, CEO of RelateCare. "Our Group has experienced rapid growth over the past five years, with our administrative and clinical solutions increasingly supporting a wide range of health systems in Ireland and the US.Â
"We partner with a number of leading healthcare organisations and have built a strong reputation for our work with many well-known US Academic Medical Centres. These organisations care for millions of patients across the US, many of whom represent either the most complex, highly acute, or vulnerable populations of patients seeking inpatient or outpatient care,” Conor O'Byrne explained.
RelateCare, through its people and technology platform, provides patient-access and patient-engagement solutions to leading healthcare organisations around the world. RelateCare employs teams of registered nurses and health coaches to enable support for key virtual clinical programmes including post-discharge follow up, smoking cessation, nurse triage, and ambulatory care nursing, all delivered remotely and conveniently for patients.
By interacting with patients, RelateCare allows for the hospital staff to focus on face-to-face, quality care. The combination of a top-class technology infrastructure and a highly trained expert staff enables the organisation to deliver an exceptional experience to patients across the globe. In addition to expansion in personnel and locations, RelateCare continues to invest in its technology infrastructure, furthering innovation and allowing for convenience for the patients and clients with whom it partners.
O’Byrne added: “Our company’s services often result in immediate gains in the number of appointments scheduled and patient satisfaction. Some changes are operational, e.g. allowing phone calls to be answered in a timely manner. To drive efficiencies across an entire health system, other solutions are more strategic and long-term, such as implementing digital health applications and omnichannel patient communication strategies.
“We have seen significant growth in recent years in terms of employee numbers and revenue, doubling in size since 2019. The Covid-19 pandemic presented itself as a sustainable way to grow our organisation, as many of our clients leaned heavily on our solutions. Today, we have over 1,100 employees based in Ireland and 300 in the US including a virtual registered nurse workforce."Â
O’Byrne noted: “RelateCare fosters a culture of innovation which is important as we seek out fresh opportunities and constantly develop new strategies which align with the current market. We are recognised as the best in our field, and to maintain this level of excellence, we plan to continue to attract and retain the best teams of people for our organisation.
“To continue our expected growth, we are looking to foster new relationships with potential customers in Ireland and the US and beyond. We also have ambitious plans to enhance the services we offer, while diversifying into new areas,” he added.
As part of their overall mission, RelateCare is very much focused on leveraging the long-established linkages between Ireland and the US to drive the business. As a homegrown Irish organisation now operating across the US, RelateCare continues to build on the strong business alliance that exists between the two nations, driving solutions and creating value for our global healthcare clients.
“As we collaborate with our colleagues across the Atlantic, it is a regular occurrence when we walk into a room to be greeted by an individual with an Irish surname, or an individual who has fond memories of visiting Ireland. No doubt, the long cultural and heritage ties between both countries has served as a catalyst for positive working relationships.
“Maintaining a robust Irish-US partnership in business is essential for fostering innovation and driving economic growth as both nations share a strong history of collaboration, leveraging each other's strengths in technology, finance, and entrepreneurship. Through strategic alignment and a commitment to shared values, Irish-US businesses can navigate challenges, seize opportunities, and thrive in an ever-evolving global economy,” O’Byrne concluded.Â
