Irish climate-tech firm secures €2m investment with global tech giant

Irish firm Platmech has signed an exclusive national partnership with TCL, the global technology leader and Worldwide Olympic partner

Platmech recently announced a €2 million capital injection and an exclusive national partnership with TCL, the global technology leader and Worldwide Olympic partner. The move positions Platmech as one of Ireland’s most ambitious growth companies in the climate-tech sector. 

The partnership will see TCL’s award-winning Tri-Thermal R290 heat pump range — recognised with the 2025 Red Dot and iF Design Awards — launched in Ireland for the first time. Built around the natural refrigerant R290, these systems deliver efficiency, lower running costs, and future-proof compliance with forthcoming EU regulation, helping Irish developers and businesses avoid stranded assets and costly retrofits.
