Laois | TriLaois 2025

Incorporating stunning routes through the lovely Laois countryside, this triathlon race takes you through the heart of the Midlands. Now in its 15th year, this event is perfect for both first time triathletes and seasoned competitors looking to kickstart their season with a friendly, yet competitive race. Kilkenny | Kilkenny Roots Festival

Since 1998, this festival has attracted some of the finest names in the Americana/Roots canon to the Marble City — including Calexico, Ray LaMontagne, and Alabama Shakes — and enticed audiences to wind their way through Kilkenny’s medieval streets sampling a huge range of music through ticketed and free shows. This year’s lineup includes a mixture of old and new acts on the free pub gig trail with all styles catered for, from swing to bluegrass, rockabilly to cajun, folk, blues and beyond. Wicklow | Lap of the Gap Marathon

Thanks to an incredibly scenic route through Wicklow Mountains National Park, this race is Ireland’s highest road marathon. For those not quite ready for such a mighty challenge, however, there’s also a half-marathon option. Whichever you opt for, you’re in for a treat, and the chance to savour sights such as the Glendalough Lakes, the Glenmacnass Waterfall, and Lough Tay, known as the ‘Guinness Lake’.
