Wish List: Seven super home buys that are hot on the scent of summer

The New England corner sofa, EZ Living Interiors, left; Lisa & Co’s makeup brush soap, top, right; and Lennon Courtney x Kilkenny Design's wooden serving board, below right.
Irish brand Sonas Bathrooms tells us the "mindful wet room" is on the rise. The bathroom is no longer just a functional space, says Sonas, but "evolving into a sanctuary of self-care and tranquillity".

We must admit, looking at the brand’s 700mm wet-room panel in Wreath Green Matt, €575, has us imagining a much more evolved version of ourselves too. One that does our 10-step skincare routine, hangs eucalyptus under the shower head, and meditates under a cold plunge. A girl can dream.
Irish textile artist Georgina O’Hanlon has taken inspiration from her granny’s garden for a limited-edition run of cushions. With hand-drawn illustrations of birds and roses, the Stoneybatter-based designer has printed her designs on Italian silk and sourced deadstock Mason fabric to craft the romantic ruffles and the velvet backing.

The Romantic Ruffles & Roses cushion, €88, is a playful way to inject some colour into your living space this May; see Georginaohanlonillustration.com.
We recently witnessed a beauty influencer land themselves in hot water after sharing that they clean their makeup brushes in the washing machine. Half their followers seemed to think it was a genius idea, while the other half flooded the comments decrying: Never do this.

After interviewing a couple of make-up artists in our time, we have to row in with the latter half. Can we suggest Lisa & Co’s makeup brush soap, €19, instead?
It comes with a silicone scrubbing pad, and as long as you take care not to get water in the brush handle, you shouldn’t end up spending half your make-up application time picking hairs off your face. Your brushes will thank you for the extra effort.
Dublin’s The Doorway Gallery has been resident at 24 South Frederick Street for 14 years, but a big change is in store.
As it moves to a new city centre location this June, the gallery is running a relocation sale to shift some of their works and allow space for fresh pieces. With some artists offering up to 30% off their works, it’s a great opportunity to secure an original piece of art from one of the many renowned artists the gallery represents including Lucy Doyle, Ken Browne, Padraig McCaul (whose work Home is pictured here), Michael Steinbrick and Allan Wilkie.

This year’s Landscape Artist of the Year, Kieran Guckian, will be selling his 122cm x 76cm award-winning work,
, €3,200, as part of the initiative. It’s early days yet, but we are fairly confident we’ve already found our scent of the summer. Pamalam’s Coconut & Lime candle has top notes of coconut, lime, orange, lemon and strawberry, with base notes of vanilla and musk.

It’s the kind of smell that makes us feel like we are sunning ourselves with a pina colada in hand, even when we’re just working from home at the kitchen table.
Even better, the Portobello company handmakes its candles with a blend of pure coconut and rapeseed wax. Not only is that a more planet-friendly option than paraffin, but they also offer a longer burn time and stronger scent throw. Available in 180g, €20, and 500g, €35.
Lennon Courtney x Kilkenny Design has some gorgeous homeware on offer for half its usual price at the minute, including this wooden serving board with a delightful pink accent.

Even Deirdre O’Kane gave it a shoutout on a recent podcast. If it’s good enough for Ms Showbiz, it’s good enough for us, right? Yours for €22.50.
With this fine weather set to continue, we’ve just one question — garden party, anyone? This New England Corner Sofa Set, €999, from EZ Living Interiors. has room for a crowd.

And when everyone has left? We could see ourselves snuggling up with a blanket and a cheese board. Just make sure you don’t fall asleep without topping up your SPF.
