Garden Q&A: Is it too early to start planting out summer bedding?

Our outdoor temperatures are still too low, particularly at night time, to plant these guys outside yet.
Question:
Is it too early to start planting out summer bedding?
Answer:
Yes, definitely. I would be surprised if there were even any available in garden centres yet, but you can certainly expect to see them available soon. Remember that these plants have been grown indoors in protected environments, many of them from half a continent away. Any that are available early will be under cover in garden centres or on supermarket shelves.
Our outdoor temperatures are still too low, particularly at night time, to plant these guys outside yet and don’t forget that the risk of frost has far from gone. At the end of the month and as we enter May, then it is time to “harden off” the summer flowering bedding but certainly not any sooner.
