Hugh Wallace and Suzie McAdam reunite for home interior reveal

You might be forgiven for thinking celebrity architect Hugh Wallace and international award-winning interior designer Suzie McAdam are on a mission.
Hugh Wallace and Suzie McAdam, who in previous years shared the screen on the RTÉ show, have reunited to check out apartments — and it is again a case of lights, camera and action. “Great scale and size,” says Hugh. “What I think is lovely, is in this apartment, you can put your own paintings up, you can bring your own dog!”
Suzie replies: “My furry friend would love this!”
But this isn’t a blast from the past or a leap into a parallel universe — the award-winning interior designer and architect, recently teamed up again to collaborate with a luxury Dublin residential development, Hali Cherrywood, for this video walkthrough.
Cameras follow the duo disembarking from the nearby Luas stop to tour the development's public areas.
Spoiler alert: We even get to see the pair breaking into a sweat as they work out and sample the gym, which is among the many onsite amenities for residents.
Hali in Cherrywood, Dublin 18, is a “build to rent” community and Suzie and Hugh have been invited to explore its modern, bright and spacious one, two and three-bedroom studio apartments.
The contemporary architecture and external areas are teamed with slick interiors in this A2-rated sustainable development.
Additionally, it offers work-from-home areas, social zones, and abundant greenery with proximity to three parks.
With its easy access to the city centre via the Luas, which stops right outside and to the seaside village of Killiney, the community is one of the most sought-after developments in South Dublin, say its developers.
The residents can avail of complimentary enterprise wifi and TV packages, there are weekly wellness and fitness classes, and gyms, fitness studios, and saunas.

The recently launched ‘Sky Gym’, in the Harcourt building, features top-of-the-range equipment and provides onsite trainers who offer bespoke workout programmes. Its floor-to-ceiling glass walls offer fantastic views across to Killiney and the Dublin Mountains.
Hugh Wallace, Douglas Wallace Architects, says he would be tempted to move in. “I am absolutely blown away by this development.
"There is great thought put into how the residents will use both the internal and external spaces with the inclusion of superb amenities such as state-of-the-art gyms, home working hubs and public entertainment spaces.

“The apartments themselves are spacious and light and the development itself enjoys plenty of exterior green spaces and with not one, but three public parks surrounding the development there is plenty of space to exercise, to walk the dog and to enjoy nature and the great outdoors.”

In the video interior designer Suzie also chats to Helen Walsh, the onsite interior designer for Hali.

“I was really impressed with the art in both the public spaces and within the apartments itself. The specially commissioned pieces of art at Hali have created wonderful vignettes throughout the building,” says Suzie.
“Large-scale pieces with fantastic colour and texture have softened both the private and public spaces whilst adding interest and warmth. It’s nice to see that Hali is leading the way in supporting artists and in particular female, Irish artists. The art has created a narrative that is both enchanting and unexpected.”
Suzie is also a fan of the room layouts, as well as the colour palette. “The combination of warm white, natural wood and splashes of aubergine has created a contemporary and relaxing atmosphere,” says Suzie.
Hali, Cherrywood, is currently home to just over 1,300 residents and its managing director, Benjamin Preece, a seasoned figure in the real estate landscape, says his vision was driven by the marriage of technology and hospitality.

“The ‘social spaces and clubhouses’ feature modern and spacious living spaces, MasterChef kitchens and dining rooms which residents can book out privately for a dinner party or gathering with friends and family at no extra cost,” he says.
“With connected living and wellbeing at the heart of what we offer, Hali aims to provide our residents with the latest in smart security technology combined with amenities that add to their wellbeing, enhance their life, and enable them to become part of a vibrant community.”
Business collaborations have been created with various local providers and partnerships with brands and services such as Tulu, MyPUP and YUKÕ car share means that residents can easily hire domestic equipment, a printer for their home office or even book a shared car.
