Government jet is bringing Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch’s son Jason back to Ireland from Spain as an extradition operation gets under way.
Jason Hutch, 37, is being transported from Arrecife Airport in Lanzarote on board the Government’s Dassault Falcon 6X aircraft this afternoon.
According to reports, the aircraft is expected to land at Baldonnel this evening.
Once back in Ireland, Mr Hutch is expected to be handed over to An Garda Síochána and formally arrested.
He is then expected to appear before Dublin District Court.
Mr Hutch has been held in custody in Spain since April last year after being detained on foot of a European arrest warrant.
The operation to return him to Ireland is understood to involve a significant security operation, with gardaí due to take custody of him on his arrival.
Further details of the charges he is expected to face have not been confirmed.
