Growing Alpines in the Schachen Alpine Garden is the subject of a talk next month. 

• Cobh Flower and Horticulture Club will hold its next meeting on Monday, February 12, in Cobh Community Centre at 7pm. It will be a garden talk. The speaker for the evening is Hendrick Verwey. Visitors welcome. Admission €5.
• Clonakilty Flower Club’s gardening night will be held on Monday, February 12, at 8pm in the GAA Complex, Ahamilla, Clonakilty. The speaker is Klaus Laitenberger who will give a talk on organic gardening. All are welcome.
• Skibbereen Flower and Garden Club are holding a garden talk with William Swanton on Wednesday, February 14, at 8.15pm in Abbeystrewry Hall, Skibbereen. Come along and bring a friend.
• Youghal Flower and Garden Club will host a demonstration and talk by Lynn Shead Community Herbalist from Nature's Alchemy at Brú na Sí adjacent to Youghal GAA Pitch, P36 H265, at 7.30pm on Wednesday, February 14. All are welcome. Refreshments will be served. Mass for deceased members will take place in the Holy Family Church on Wednesday, February 21, at 10am.
• A Snowdrop Garden Open Day in aid of the Cork University Hospital charity takes place at Bride Park Cottage in Killumney, Co Cork, P31 VW52, on February 18 from 11am to 5pm. The event will include plant sales, antique sales and a raffle. Entry is €10. Tea/coffee and light refreshments will be served.
• The Ladysbridge & District Flower & Garden Club will host Dominic Cullinane of Curraghbeg Nursery, Ovens on Monday, February 19 in the Garryvoe Hotel at 8pm. Dominic will have plants for sale on the night. All welcome. Non-members €10.
