Des O'Sullivan takes a look at Bill Wyman's Rolling Stones memorabilia

It might not be kind, over even fair, to describe The Rolling Stones as antique but nonetheless their memorabilia is to come under the hammer.

The most important collection of Stones stuff will be auctioned at Julien’s Auctions in Hollywood at the end of May.

Irish viewers and fans can sneak a peek at the sale of property from Bill Wyman and his Rolling Stones Archive courtesy of Ripple Productions at the Museum of Style Icons at Newbridge in Kildare next month.

Bass guitars, amps, wardrobes and memorabilia will be sold with some of the proceeds to benefit The Prince’s Trust, Macmillan Cancer Support and CCMI (Central Caribbean Marine Institute).

“Collecting and archiving has been one of the great pleasures of my life and will undoubtedly be one of my legacies,” Bill Wyman said.

Lots will be on display at Newbridge from March 10 to April 20 and at The Hard Rock Cafe, Times Square, New York, from May 4-10. The auction in Hollywood will take place on May 29-31.
