Silver spoon

A Limerick silver serving spoon is among the lots on offer at O’Donovan’s auction in Newcastlewest Saturday. Made by Robert O’Shaughnessy it dates to c1810. The sale will include period furniture, old GAA medals, soda siphons from Nash’s of Newcastlewest, books, Waterford Crystal and collectibles. Most lots will be offered without reserve.

Woodward’s auction

The Woodward’s auction gets underway at 11am Saturday in Cork city centre. This sale offers antique furniture, garden furniture, fine art, mirrors, silver and collectibles. Live bidding is available.

Sale postponed

The sale by Aidan Foley of pub interiors, memorabilia and vintage pieces at Sixmilebridge in County Clare, which had been originally scheduled for July, has been postponed. The event will now take place on August 27.

Antiques chat

The South Court Hotel in Limerick is the venue for an eagerly anticipated afternoon of antiques chat Sunday, in the company of Andy McConnell of the BBC Antiques Roadshow. Mr McConnell will appraise glass and other pieces from 2pm to 5pm. This event is organised by Hibernian Antique Fairs.Admission is €15 and all proceeds will go to the Limerick Mental Health Association as well as the Friends of the Hunt Museum.

Interiors sale

There will be a classic and contemporary interiors sale at Mullens of Laurel Park, Bray, Co Wicklow, at 10am next Monday. The auction is on view from 10am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday.
