Art and antiques news: Port theme at two-week show
CONTAINER SHIP is the title of this work by Tom Roche.
It is one of the works on show at the Dublin Painting and Sketching Club exhibition at CHQ, Customs House Quay, Dublin, from Monday until May 12.
One of the country’s largest exhibitions features around 90 artists showing 170 artworks. The theme of this year’s show is The Port, and a number of member artists have created paintings with scenes of Dublin Port and docklands.
Works in oil, watercolour, pastel, ink, drawings, lithographs, and prints are on offer at prices from €250 to €4,000.
The club was founded in October 1874 by artists who included Alfred Grey, RHA, Alexander Williams, RHA, Nathaniel Hone, John Butler Yeats, Walter Osborne, and author Bram Stoker.
