Conna and District Flower and Garden Club will meet on Wednesday, September 17 in Conna Hall at 8pm. Floral demonstration by Geraldine McCarthy (AOIFA). Plant and home produce sale. All welcome.
On Wednesday September 24, Alan Gray, East Ruston Old Vicarage, Norfolk will give a lecture on ‘Pushing The Boundaries’ for Cork Alpine Hardy Plant Society at 8pm, at the Lavanagh Centre, Ballintemple . A plant sale will also be held. All welcome.
The Irish Garden Plant Society (Munster) will have its autumn garden visit on Saturday September 27 to Blarney Castle Gardens with a guided tour by Head Gardener, Adam Whitbourn. Meeting point: 11am outside the main entrance. Members: €5, non-members €15. www.irishgardenplantsociety.com
The Lough Flower and Garden Club will hold an evening of gardening and flower arranging by DJ Murphy Bandon at 8pm in the SMA Centre, Wilton on Tuesday next September 23. Everyone welcome, visitors €5.
Blarney and District Flower Club present a Festival of flowers on the theme ‘To the Glory of God’ at the Church of Ireland, Blarney on September 26-28. Opening times, Friday from 2-7pm; Sat from 12- 7pm and Sunday from 10 to 3 and all are welcome.
The Cork Branch of the Irish Wildlife Trust will resume it’s monthly clean-up in Beaumont Quarry, Ballintemple during September and volunteers are invited to join the work today at 10.30am. This important annual survey is open to all and if you would like to help, training is provided by Coastwatch coordinators.
