Plans for major housing scheme with 240 homes in Bandon lodged with council
Cork County Council is due to decide on the development by June 24, 2026
A large-scale residential development spanning 240 homes in Bandon has been lodged with Cork County Council.
Developer Wayleaf B Limited has sought planning permission to build 156 houses and 84 apartments at Coolfadda and Kilbrogan in Bandon, along with a creche facility and associated works.
The planned scheme would be spread across an area spanning over seven hectares. The proposed 156 houses will comprise a mix of four-, three- and two-bedroom units, while the apartments would comprise 60 two-bedroom units and 24 one-bedroom units, spread across four three-storey apartment buildings.
Vehicular and pedestrian access to the proposed development will be provided via new entrances from the L-2033 local road, which will serve western areas of the proposed development and via Kilbrogan Street (L-2039), which will serve eastern and northern areas of the proposed development.
The proposed development also provides for two shared vehicular entrances from Convent Hill to the south (L-2011) to serve the southern areas of the proposed development. The proposed development also provides for public realm enhancements to Kilbrogan Street (L-2039), which includes a raised table and new footpath to connect to existing footpath infrastructure and provide connectivity to the Town Park.
Cork County Council is due to decide on the development by June 24, 2026.
