The name of this Schull home, ‘Na Ceithre Radharc’, translates as ‘The Four Views’, but really the view is more of a 360° panoramic.

This four-bed, detached home, on an elevated, 0.8-acre site, has uninterrupted views over Schull harbour to the front and has trees, fields, and Mount Gabriel to the back.

The Irish owner, who lives in the UK and has ties to the Schull area, built this 144sq m, B-rated home in the Corthna townland in 2008.

The corner site on Barry’s Rd runs down towards the waterfront and Colla Road in one direction and back to the main Schull-to-Goleen Rd in the other, and this €625k house, with a neat and unassuming exterior, is about two minute’s drive west of Schull.

Inside, it’s got a handy layout, with the main hallway dividing the living areas from the four bedrooms, one of which has its own bathroom.

There’s a triple-radharc living room to the front and a good-sized kitchen/dining room that has a hefty, traditional-style, stone fireplace with inset stove to add a cosy feel. Double doors link out to the more sheltered patio at the back, so following the sun is an easy enough job.

“It’s a fine, generous site and you could enjoy a good healthy walk to Schull from here,” says Keith O’Sullivan, of Hodnett Forde.

Map apps put the main street of Schull at a 2km walk, if you take the more scenic route past Schull Community College.

“The house itself is immaculate and the stone fireplace is a really nice feature, with lovely, high-quality units in the kitchen, too,” adds Mr O’Sullivan, noting that there is plenty of floored storage upstairs in two separate areas.

Interest has been from locals keen to upgrade to a detached home, people with Schull connections but living overseas and looking to move home, and buyers in the US scoping out places along the west coast.

VERDICT: Superb vista at this cosy-and-modern, cottage-style home.
