Watch: Never-before-seen views of Cork city amid promises of bright future

Fresh, never-before-seen views of Cork city, and promises of a bright future, are opening up from the top of the city's new office blocks under construction on the north and south quays.

An indication of what we'll see, and the new urban core vantage points, by the end of 2020 comes in this stunning timelapse video of a sunset over the city centre and River Lee, complete with whirring 2019 Christmas ferris wheel visible on the Grand Parade.

It was fimed from the roof terrace of the Penrose Dock JCD Cork scheme of 250,000 sq ft of new offices, which is under advancing construction, due for completion and occupation in the summer.

A number of key tenants have already been announced, including Grant Thornton and Naturally Nourished, with further deals under active negotiation.

Penrose Dock development forms a key part of the evolution of Cork city's North Quays into a thriving new economic district in the city.

It adjoins the Horgans Quay/HQ development by Kent Rail Station which will include offices, hotel and apartments.

The new district at the eastern entrance to the city is bringing an already visible cornerstone of a rejuvenated urban district, adding balance and momentum to progress made in recent years on the South Quays, such as One Albert Quay and Navigation Square.
