Giant British pub chain plans Cork city move

According to additional information provided to Cork City Council, the development will consist of the amalgamation of the existing four-storey building at 6/7 Paul Street and the existing 3 storey building on 15/16 Carey’s Lane to provide a single pub, thanks to internal modifications on each floor including the removal and rearrangement of walls and staircases, the relocation of a passenger lift, and the change of use at 1st and 2nd floor of 6/7 Paul Street from restaurant to pub use.

That pub, called the Three Tun Tavern, will open next Tuesday, bringing 60 jobs, and will stock Murphys and Beamish instead.
