Beacon views beckon at Galley
“One of the most spectacular coastal settings in the world.” That’s the background claim pinned to this west Cork farmhouse, with its bird’s eye view of Galley Head and its powerful lighthouse beam.
The Galley’s setting is every bit as lovely as the famed Old Head of Kinsale, only wilder, so perhaps auctioneer Martin Kelleher is, in fact, underselling this setting. The visitors’ book at the Irish Landmark Trusts’s two former lighthouse keepers’ houses has equally high eulogies of praise and prose for the Galley’s locale.
