You too can be toff at the top
Ardmore’s Round Tower is still very much a local landmark, even if the views beneath have since become somewhat cluttered by rafts of new housing, built with planning approval during the halcyon days of the Celtic Tiger.
A house built almost 70 years ago still stands head and shoulders above the brash new upstarts beneath, and its arrival on the property market has led to queues of viewings, says Eamonn Spratt of Spratt Property Partners in Dungarvan.
This timber-built house up on a height, with full sweeping bay views was built by local landowners, and Lady Dobbs was the lucky beneficiary of the finished product.
The address is Ringsend, Ardmore, and the property with a €450,000 price guide is a bit of 20th century history, with a modern deck to continue the long-life wood theme.
Built in 1939, it has four bedrooms, most with built-ins and one has a cut stone fireplace, there’s a large L-shaped 20’ by 15’ living area with deck out behind on two sides for the views, kitchen, shower and bathroom.
It is in good condition throughout, and the location justifies further spending, as the house is on good landscaped grounds with good access, in one of Ardmore’s very best settings.
