The minister for health’s inherent recognition of how the State has mistreated our fellow citizens (but most particularly our children) who have mental illness by hitherto grudgingly spending less than 6% of the health budget and less than 0.6% on children with psychiatric illness, by making a commitment “that the budget for mental health services would have to continue to grow” is to be hugely welcomed.
