Readers' Blog: TDs must ask questions of planning board

It is important to realise that whereas An Bord Planála is independent it is not unaccountable.

Concerned TDs must therefore ask, in Dáil Éireann, how setting up an oral hearing under a board inspector and then rejecting his recommendations can be justified. Mind you it does not help that there is no longer a Department of the Environment it, for some reason, having been spread across three departments.
