I wish to join the pantheon of elderly men writing overblown and self-important letters to The Paper, telling women what they can and can’t do with their own bodies.
I bear bad news for Mr Denis Murphy of Kinsale, who feels that Leo Varadkar’s holding a referendum on the repeal of the Eighth Amendment during the month of May constitutes “an insult to the mother of God”. Mr Murphy feels that if the referendum is passed, it will mean “the Irish people have turned their back on God”.
