City’s weapons of mass deception

ON a recent vacation home to our historic home of Cork, my wife and I were startled to see that WMD (weapons of mass deception) were to be found lining the sidewalks of Patrick Street excellently disguised as industrial site lighting.

City’s weapons of mass deception

Indeed Hans Blix himself would compliment the city council on its talents in both disguise and boldness when confronting the People’s Republic of Cork. My wife and I were not a bit pleased that the council had decided to place them where the Apostle of Temperance, Fr Matthew, would be sorely tempted to lose his temper.

We’re sure that if the ingenuity of Cork City Council was brought to the attention of George W Bush, he would be so impressed that he would want to go on a joint world tour of deception with the designer of such weaponry.

Then, while the designer was out of town, the people of Cork, on the good word of Hans Blix, could pull down these weapons of mass deception and beat the heck out of them with their shoes so that Patrick Street may once again resume its historic place in the Old Europe (oh, we mean Cork).
