Bono’s contribution

SO Bono is embarrassed by our Government’s failure to honour its development aid pledge (Irish Examiner, December 17).

It’s surprising that this particular failure should affect him considering all the other failures of this Government - not to mention his own failure to contribute anything in taxes to the state coffers.

But then again, after he was pictured in Dublin putting a spare coin into a charity collection box, I suppose he now considers himself on a par with PAYE workers who can’t afford to travel to meet world leaders and try to dictate monetary policies.
