‘No’ is ‘yes’ to a better Europe

A ‘No’ to Nice vote will not result in sanctions on Ireland from our European partners. Ireland will still be a full and committed member of the EU.

Irish business will continue to trade with all member and applicant states. Direct inward investment in Ireland, in particular from America, will also continue because the US considers Ireland to be the stepping stone to the European marketplace.

The last Nice campaign highlighted flaws in the treaty and the democratic deficit within EU institutions. The decision of the Irish people to reject Nice was ignored by our political leaders and by Europe; indeed we are in danger of losing our sovereignty and independence. The treaty opens the way to a Europe with its own government and ultimately EU law will take precedence over national law.
