ENVIRONMENT Minister Martin Cullen has taken a strong stand against radioactive discharges from Sellafield into the Irish Sea.

However, he favours incineration to solve our waste problems. Dioxins produced by incineration can cause birth defects or sterility in the same way as radioactive discharges.

The minister needs to apply his tough policy on Sellafield to our own turf and end the hypocrisy.
