FG were victims of a policy hit–and–run

DURING the last general election Fine Gael were derided by the media and the Government for their proposal to compensate taxi drivers who suffered hardship as a result of the liberalisation of the licensing regime.

On November 6 you carried an advertisement on behalf of the Minister for Transport inviting applications from taxi licence holders who suffered just such hardship for compensation under the Taxi Hardship Payments Scheme.

This appears precisely to be what was proposed by Fine Gael. Have I missed something in the interim?
