AFTER a recent visit I am convinced that Limerick’s traditional Saturday morning market is fast becoming a prime target for robbers and muggers.

The market is now being hit by gangs of young tearaways who steal from visitors and stall-holders alike.

In recent weeks a number of people have been robbed and what should be a relaxing experience in the market has been turned into a nightmare. Even the stall-holders are now up in arms over the lack of security. Two stalls were robbed in recent times.
