Extreme outlook

YOUR correspondent Maurice Fitzgerald (Irish Examiner letters, September 16) says Dana is “a staunch fundamentalist, intolerant of viewpoints other than her own,” and that she has “extremist views.”

In my experience, some of the most extreme people are those who are quick to accuse others of ‘fundamentalism’ on little or no evidence.

By means of this trick, these people often hope to avoid having to present any logical proofs against the views they oppose - or perhaps they fear they cannot present a convincing case for their own views.
