Comedian’s line has a serious point

THE Tánaiste and Minister for Health Mary Harney is in good company in recognising the contraceptive needs for Irish girls (Irish Examiner, July 27).

George Bernard Shaw opined: “Sex is the one thing that takes the least amount of time, and causes the most amount of trouble.” Ms Harney should add the advice of Spike Milligan: “Contraceptives should be used on every conceivable occasion.”
