IRELAND, sadly, is becoming a breeding ground for greed and corruption, with one law for the rich and another for the poor. The recent National Irish Bank revelations are a good example.

In contrast, you have working people struggling to obtain a mortgage; there are 60,000 on local authority housing lists, while the abolition of the first-time home-buyers’ grant has tilted the housing market even further in favour of investors.

Public services are starved of finances while the wealthy open overseas accounts for fear of being robbed of their ill-gotten gains.
