Enough horse-play at Old Trafford

IT would be nice if John Magnier and JP McManus ended their equine vendetta with Sir Alex. They must realise by now that Old Trafford, home to one of the world’s most renowned and much loved football clubs, is not the best ground for “horse-play”.

At this stage, an amicable and peaceful solution, rather than a financial power struggle, would be welcomed by all.

We all appreciate the famous Coolmore complex and the great effort exerted by its owners and founders in the furtherance of our bloodstock industry at home and abroad. A great many Irish people too, both young and old, admire and support Man Utd.!

Multi-millionaires Mssrs Magnier and McManus might have played a far more rewarding “ball game” here at home had they invested part of the “millions” earned in Ireland on our own “assorted” national stadiums.

Hopefully, “Gibraltar” will not be the “Rock” they flounder on.
