Pursuit of justice or murderous revenge?
Nearly 3,000 people perished in the Twin Towers attack in New York.
However, thousands more have been killed and murdered in Afghanistan, and now in Iraq.
Is there not an unspoken assumption that having a different colour and living in a developing country makes you less of a human being.
The US is the only country in history that has used weapons of mass destruction remember Nagasaki and Hiroshima killing hundreds of thousands of Japanese ostensibly to save American lives.
The question was raised by Kip, the Sikh British lieutenant in Michael Ondaatje's book, 'The English Patient', but was crudely avoided in the film: would a western power have used the atom bomb against its own peoples?
Probably not!
