Why there’s a useful role for ‘bird racists’

THAT was a most interesting nature column by Richard Collins (Irish Examiner, January 10).

It read very well until near the end when he cautioned about not being a “bird racist”.

Magpies are a menace to our small birds. They eat the eggs, and also young birds in the nest.
